Men and gender equality

On 5-6 October 2006 the Conference Men and Gender Equality – Towards Progressive Politics was held in Helsinki. The conference formed a part of the Finnish EU Presidency programme and was co-funded by the European Commission.

The Conference gathered together experts in the theme of men and gender equality from different parts of the European Union. It wanted to highlight the important role of men in promoting gender equality. This report pulls together the presentations given at the Conference. It is published only in English and follows the structure of the Conference. The Verwey-Jonker Institute (Hugo Swinnen) was chairmen of Working Group 4: Men and Reconciliation of Work and Family Life: Visions for Future – page 152 (downloadable under 'Volledige tekst').
